OpenSuse Linux 11.2

One month Back i had my OpenSuse DVD from PCQuest and installed it on my Dell 1525 recently., Its a Full time Fun From very installation to the End use., Unike similar distros Opensuse shipped with a much userfriendly installer with plenty of slideshows and details before installation. ,

The installation can be initialized from Windows and installation took hardly 1.5 Hrs( Full Pack Selection), and the system rebotted quietly., On the second time win Xp boot it uninstalls the install back up files permanently from Windows Hard Drive

Partitioning: Partitioning is pretty simple it took the desired (default 28 GB) from selected Windows Partion and Shrink the Drive by 28 GB

Installtion end with a reboot with Suse as default boot choice

Suse got a customized start menu

Its interface differ from convensional menu of GNOME to a Suse customised one,

Search box is placed on top and Recent applications listed immediate to the popup

all child menus are in Seaprate windows

also Software customization is very friendly even to the first time user

Only disadvantage is Visibility issue, convensional Windows users may bit stuck to the interface on the very first look but it will make up with simple navigations to the menus very shortly

Window Effects include cube type navigation from Virtual Desktop to Desktops
